Location: Summerville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

As a CT Technologist, you will perform computerized tomography imaging under the supervision of certified radiologists. Your role includes producing diagnostic images, assisting radiologists during procedures, and supervising student radiologic technologists. You will ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining high-quality imaging standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CT imaging procedures following established protocols and physician orders.
• Ensure patient care and safety during imaging, using age-appropriate techniques.
• Prepare and instruct patients on procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation of orders, diagnoses, and clinical history.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and regulatory standards (ALARA principles, OSHA, DHEC, FDA, TJC).
• Assist in clinical education of student technologists.
• Collaborate with the imaging team and other departments to maintain records and support operations.
• Handle physical demands including frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and exposure to blood, body fluids, radiation, and chemicals.
• May require working under stressful conditions, irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• High school diploma or GED
• Experience as a Radiology Technologist

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce diagnostic-quality images.
• Knowledge of relevant safety and regulatory standards.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, and patient handling (lifting/moving up to 50 lbs).
• Exposure to infectious materials, radiation, and chemicals.
• Work may involve moderate noise levels and stressful conditions.
