Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech - Rad CATR CT)

Location: Danville, Illinois

Job Summary

Perform diagnostic general radiological procedures using various imaging equipment to assist in diagnosing diseases and injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic procedures following accreditation and manufacturer guidelines as well as department protocols.
• Review radiology orders, patient history, labs, and clinical data for completeness, accuracy, and medical necessity.
• Administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast materials; perform veni-puncture as needed.
• Screen patients for pregnancy and conduct pregnancy testing when applicable.
• Recognize and respond to adverse or allergic reactions.
• Critique imaging quality, positioning, technical factors, and alignment to meet quality standards.
• Transfer and verify image data in PACS; provide necessary medical history for radiologist interpretation.
• Use RIS for scheduling, billing, and coding procedures.
• Maintain imaging equipment, supply inventories, and workplace orderliness; report malfunctions promptly.
• Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety; report safety events immediately.
• Assist in instruction of students and new staff as needed.
• May perform duties of lead technologist or imaging coordinator in their absence.
• Cross-train and perform duties in other modalities within licensure scope as required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Illinois IEMA Radiography License
• ARRT certification
• Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology
• Experience as a Radiology Technologist

• Secondary registries for cross-trained modalities are not required unless mandated by compliance or accrediting bodies.
