CT Tech 1
Location
- Normal, Illinois
Schedule
- Night shift
- 40 hours per week
- Evening schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
- Rotation with backup call
Job Summary
- Provides diagnostic CT services to inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients under the direction of a supervising radiologist.
- Focuses on safe, prompt, efficient, and cost-effective CT services.
Key Responsibilities
- Position patients correctly and use proper immobilization techniques.
- Perform CT scans using correct technical factors, shielding, and protocols.
- Perform CT angiography and post-processing tasks including 3D, MIPS, VR, vessel analysis, and MPR.
- Follow CT department workflow, including patient identification, history review, order verification, image transfer, documentation, and charge capture.
- Operate CT support equipment such as a workstation, pressure injector, PACS, and EPIC.
- Initiate IVs for contrast administration per department policy.
- Prepare and transport patients as needed and monitor patient condition during procedures.
- Work with the radiologist to tailor protocols to patient exam requirements.
- Document patient history, charges, allergic reactions, IV extravasations, and unusual occurrences.
- Maintain license and continuing education.
- Administer contrast media after proper patient screening and consult the provider as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
- CT Technologist (1 year of experience)
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ARRT (R)
- ARRT (CT) or Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT)
- Certificate of completion from a radiologic technology program or college diploma in a related field
