Description

Cardiovascular Cath Lab Tech

Location: Bricktown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Assist physicians with cardiovascular procedures including:

  • Cardiac Catheterization
  • Angioplasty
  • Atherectomy
  • TEC
  • Rotablator
  • Valvuloplasty
  • Intra-vascular Ultrasound
  • Pulmonary Angiograms
  • Insertion of intra-aortic balloon pumps and stents (coronary and biliary)

Additional responsibilities include preparing sterile trays, patient preparation (EKG leads, betadine scrub, draping), assisting during procedures, operating power injectors, maintaining digital cine technology standards, emergency patient support, vascular closure device insertion, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.

Physical demands include lifting at least 40 lbs, pushing/pulling 100 lbs, and standing for a minimum of 4 hours daily.

Patient care involves adapting communication and care to meet diverse patient needs (age, culture, language, sensory impairments).


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area within an acute care hospital.
  • Completion of 6-12 months in a Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) accredited program or 2 years in another cardiac vascular laboratory.
  • Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques.
