Description
Registered Nurse - Medicine / Pediatrics
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 days per week, 12-hour day shifts (36 hours/week)
Job Summary
Provide nursing care under general supervision to pediatric patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring physiological data, assisting physicians with exams and minor procedures, and coordinating care with patients’ families and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage care for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses and changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
- Monitor patient physiological status and intervene as needed.
- Communicate care plans and hospital procedures to patients and families.
- Delegate tasks to support staff and make referrals for additional care needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Pediatric nursing experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
