Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

Provide respiratory therapy services under general supervision for all appropriate age levels and areas served by the department. Responsibilities include administering prescribed therapeutic treatments, performing invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing, maintaining respiratory equipment, and participating in quick response teams for cardiac and respiratory arrests.

Essential Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff
• Record treatment information and patient responses in electronic medical records
• Serve as a resource to medical staff
• Perform diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
• Provide age-appropriate respiratory care
• Clean and maintain respiratory therapy equipment
• Maintain respiratory therapy records
• Participate in quick response teams for cardiac and respiratory emergencies

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Oklahoma
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair
• Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac patient care across age groups
• Ability to interpret patient information to identify needs
• Ability to work effectively under stress
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Contract duration is approximately 13 weeks
• 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
