Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience for a pediatric night shift position at a children's hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

  • Inpatient respiratory care department at a children's hospital in Oklahoma City, OK
  • Pediatric patient population across all age-appropriate care areas served by the respiratory therapy department
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week (48 hours/week)
  • 13-week contract
  • Previous experience at a children's-only hospital is preferred

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience; 2+ years in a critical care setting preferred
  • RRT credential required (or must be obtained within 12 months of hire)
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • ACLS certification from AHA required (within 3 months of hire)
  • All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association
  • License required if applicable
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Administer therapeutic respiratory treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and document patient responses in the computerized medical record
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring
  • Serve as a resource person to medical staff and respond as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for a new contract (extensions are permitted once, for a total of 26 weeks)
  • Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon booking — the facility does not negotiate start dates and will not accommodate non-compliant travelers
