Description

Registered Nurse - CVICU

Location

Cincinnati, Ohio

ICU Float Pool (MICU/SICU/CVICU)
Night shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, plus every other weekend
Contract length: 8 weeks
Hours per week: 36

Unit Description

Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) with 28 beds
Fast-paced environment utilizing state-of-the-art technology and nationally recognized standards of care
Care for pre-operative and immediate post-operative cardiovascular patients, including open heart surgery, heart transplants, ventricular assist device implantation, and interventional/structural heart procedures
Management of acute cardiology and heart failure patients, often on inotropic support or temporary ventricular devices
Experience with Impellas, IABP, ECMO, C-Mag, and upcoming Total Artificial Hearts
Skilled management of invasive lines, medications, hemodynamic monitoring, continuous dialysis, ultrafiltration, and ventricular assist devices (permanent and temporary)
Emphasis on patient safety and good outcomes supported by leadership and interdisciplinary teams

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Minimum of 1 year float experience, including float experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
