Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool RN with 18 months of recent MS/Tele experience and required NIHSS certification.

Details

• Float pool position within a hospital's Med/Surg Tele unit
• Potential to float to additional units caring for the same patient population, including the ED
• Day/Night rotating shift schedule (3x12 hours), with shifts subject to change based on hospital operational needs
• 20-week assignment providing winter coverage, with 13-week assignments also accepted
• Required to work at least every other holiday

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license required, must be in hand
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or American Red Cross)
• 18 months of combined permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele required
• 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required (travel experience accepted)
• Must complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation with an acceptable score
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty required (co-worker references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within the Med/Surg Tele float pool, supporting multiple units as needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Nurses are currently exempt from the facility's nicotine-free policy
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff must wait 1 year from their end date before returning
• Two attempts are allowed to pass the ECG and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
