CT Technologist (Weekend, Night Shift)

Location

  • Urbana, Illinois

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Workdays: Thursday, Friday, Saturday (12-hour shifts)

Job Description

  • Perform computerized axial tomography (CT) procedures using various imaging equipment and contrast materials.
  • Prepare and administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast as appropriate.
  • Acquire and process patient exams, including multiplanar reformats and 3D rendered images independently.
  • Review patient labs and history to ensure correct exam performance.
  • Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
  • Recognize and respond to adverse or allergic reactions.
  • Ensure safety of patients, visitors, and environment; report safety events immediately.
  • Assist in instruction of students and new staff.
  • May perform duties of CT Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
  • Assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
  • May perform duties in other modalities within the department if licensed and cross-trained.
  • Comply with protocols and guidelines from accrediting bodies and manufacturers.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field, or a Certificate in Radiologic Technology

Certifications & Licensure

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
  • Radiography (R)(ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Tech Certification (NMTCB)
  • Computed Tomography (CT)(ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
