Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel)

Location

  • New York, NY

Job Type

  • Contract travel nursing position
  • Contract length: 14 weeks

Shift & Hours

  • 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, every other week (EOW)
  • Approximately 34.5 hours per week

Job Description

  • Provide safe, competent, quality nursing care to a designated group of patients using nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking in patient management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, disease prevention, and transition of care.
  • Manage patient assignments and resources effectively within a modified primary nursing care delivery model.
  • Role model relationship-centered care through patient engagement activities such as bedside shift reports, purposeful rounding, medication review, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, respecting cultural diversity and patient preferences.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives, including process improvement, peer review, and compliance with institutional standards.
  • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, including coordination of supplies and staffing resources.
  • Document nursing care accurately and thoroughly in compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
  • Support professional development by advancing clinical competence, ethical decision-making, and participation in nursing committees and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in charge nurse roles
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
