Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel)

Location

New York, NY

Job Type

Contract travel nursing position
Contract length: 14 weeks

Shift & Hours

7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, every other week (EOW)
Approximately 34.5 hours per week

Job Description

Provide safe, competent, quality nursing care to a designated group of patients using nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking in patient management.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, disease prevention, and transition of care.
Manage patient assignments and resources effectively within a modified primary nursing care delivery model.
Role model relationship-centered care through patient engagement activities such as bedside shift reports, purposeful rounding, medication review, and discharge planning.
Maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, respecting cultural diversity and patient preferences.
Participate in quality and safety initiatives, including process improvement, peer review, and compliance with institutional standards.
Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, including coordination of supplies and staffing resources.
Document nursing care accurately and thoroughly in compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
Support professional development by advancing clinical competence, ethical decision-making, and participation in nursing committees and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in charge nurse roles
Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
