• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Unit Description

• Medical/Surgical unit (no Operating Room candidates accepted)
• Mixed Stepdown (SD) and Acute Care (MS) floor
• Cares for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients
• Also cares for pre-transplant patients undergoing evaluation during inpatient stay
• Close monitoring required for infection, rejection, and medication delivery
• Not a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) position
• Nurses may be assigned to MS or SD based on availability and skill set
• ICU nurses may be floated to SD patients depending on acuity

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data; intervene as necessary
• Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including at discharge
• Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Medical/Surgical (Med Surg) experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
