Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) - Travel

Location: Summit, New Jersey
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: AM (7 PM - 8 AM)
Hours: 12 hours per day, approximately 37.5 hours per week

Job Overview

• Provide competent nursing care to surgical patients across the continuum of care, including pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments for all age groups from pediatric to geriatric.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress.
• Promote patient and family-centered care by responding professionally and courteously.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification using two identifiers.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Individualize patient care based on surgical procedure and anesthesia type.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in surgeries including orthopedic, general, urology, and robotics.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in orthopedics and urology

Physical Requirements

• Must meet occupational safety standards for physical demands related to perioperative nursing.
