Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac ICU
Location
- Rochester, Minnesota
Job Overview
- Provide coordination of nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
- Care for critically ill adult patients with altered cardiac function and hemodynamic instability.
- Function within a professional nursing practice model, accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care.
- Provide leadership through precepting, informal leadership roles, quality improvement efforts, mentoring, and teaching.
- Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and resource availability.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts with day/night rotation: 07:00–19:30 and 19:00–07:30
- Every third weekend required
- Floating as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Minnesota
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience, including Med Surg experience within the last year
- One year or more of total travel experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- Experience with pulmonary artery catheter, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella device, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management
- Demonstrated leadership skills

- Expertise in acute nursing, cardiac ICU nursing, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Ability to coordinate patient care and provide patient education
- Strong communication, mentoring, and teaching skills
- Leadership capabilities in clinical settings
This position is ideal for experienced cardiac ICU RNs with travel experience seeking a 13-week assignment with a structured day/night rotation and opportunities for leadership and professional growth.
