Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac ICU

Job Overview

• Provide coordination of nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
• Care for critically ill adult patients with altered cardiac function and hemodynamic instability.
• Function within a professional nursing practice model, accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care.
• Provide leadership through precepting, informal leadership roles, quality improvement efforts, mentoring, and teaching.
• Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and resource availability.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts with day/night rotation: 07:00–19:30 and 19:00–07:30
• Every third weekend required
• Floating as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience, including Med Surg experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
• Experience with pulmonary artery catheter, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella device, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management
• Demonstrated leadership skills

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in acute nursing, cardiac ICU nursing, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Ability to coordinate patient care and provide patient education
• Strong communication, mentoring, and teaching skills
• Leadership capabilities in clinical settings
