Description
Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool - Cincinnati, Ohio
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care using specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
- Deliver culturally based and age-specific care.
- Adhere to the American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Responsibilities
Assessment
- Perform holistic assessments of patients’ physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs.
- Recognize and report abnormal data and changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members using appropriate handoff methods.
- Assess safety risks for patient, family, and environment; perform safety initiatives.
Diagnosis and Planning
- Establish and prioritize individualized patient problems and needs.
- Prepare and revise multidisciplinary care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
- Set measurable goals for each problem.
- Communicate care plans using SBAR and handoff processes.
- Initiate discharge planning upon admission and make appropriate referrals.
Implementation
- Provide evidence-based, quality care adhering to hospital policies.
- Perform and delegate nursing actions with critical thinking and accountability.
- Deliver individualized patient and family education.
- Respond skillfully to emergency situations.
- Implement infection control and safety measures.
Evaluation
- Continuously evaluate nursing practice against evidence-based standards and patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of float nursing experience, with float experience within the last year required.
Work Schedule
- Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift.
- Every other weekend required.
- Contract length: 8 weeks.
Additional Information
- Total weekly hours: 36 hours.
