Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography
Location
- Detroit, Michigan
Job Summary
- Perform computerized tomographic (CT) radiological procedures under general supervision.
- May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
- Prepare patients and explain examination procedures.
- Review clinical data and patient medical history as needed.
- Set up and operate CT equipment, including manual control to obtain diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media using power injectors and monitor patients for reactions.
- Assist Radiologist with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Follow radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
- Manage imaging quality and documentation in PACS and Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Complete all required clinical and billing documentation.
Schedule & Shift Details
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Shifts available:
- Days: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Afternoons: 3:00 PM – flexible end time
- Midnights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend.
- No block scheduling or on-call duties.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist, with experience within the last year.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or completion of mandatory continuing medical education hours.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- None specified beyond required certifications.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Work may be in hospital fixed units or ambulatory mobile units.
- Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment; must follow safety precautions.
- Possible exposure to contagious patients.
- Occasionally lift or move equipment or patients over 10 lbs.

- Position is critical fill.
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center.
