Description

Cath Lab Tech — Lexington, Kentucky

Role Overview

Provides cardiovascular, endovascular, and neurovascular imaging and interventional support for patients during diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Schedule

  • 1st shift
  • 3x12s
  • Call required: 1–2 weekday nights per week, 2 Fridays, and 2 weekends (Saturday/Sunday) per 8-week schedule period

Contract Length

  • 18 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Competency with annual education and unit-specific validation tools
  • Experience with:
    • IABP/Impella
    • Hemodynamic monitoring
    • Arterial/venous sheath removals and/or closure devices
    • Assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures
    • Assisting physicians during implantation of permanent pacemakers/ICDs
    • Aseptic technique
    • Interventional procedures including thrombectomy, stenting, angioplasty, IVUS, OCT, FFR, and structural heart procedures
    • Managing complications including air emboli, stroke, anaphylaxis reactions, and cardiac tamponade
  • Practice of radiation safety and ALARA principles
  • Ability to perform and record quality control checks
  • Safe equipment use

  • Provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful procedures
  • Support physical and psychological needs of the patient during procedures
  • Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and respectful communication
  • Promote effective workflow and teamwork
  • Follow attendance policy and standards of behavior
  • Participate in staff meetings as directed
  • Maintain open communication through the appropriate chain of command
