• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Contract Length

• 9 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Med Surg (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Role Summary

• Provides direct nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Completes patient assessments, care planning, documentation, medication administration, and patient education
• Delegates and coordinates patient care tasks with support staff
• Supports patient safety, interdisciplinary communication, and response to changes in patient condition

Clinical Skills / Responsibilities

• IV access, including peripheral and central line/PICC/Infusaport access
• IM and SQ injections
• Chest tube insertion and management
• Sequential compression device use
• Blood glucose monitoring
• PCA machine operation
• Thoracentesis and paracentesis
• TPN administration
• Thrombolytic therapy
• Kangaroo pump operation
• Central line insertion
• Emergency response and bedside shift reporting
