Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in an acute-care Med/Surg environment. The RN will perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate plans of care.
• Implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient responses.
• Administer medications utilizing the 5 Rights of Medication Administration.
• Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Complete admissions, discharges, hourly rounding, care plans, and patient education.
• Provide and receive bedside shift reports while maintaining patient safety.
• Delegate appropriate patient-care tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and validate completion.
• Maintain fall precautions, pressure injury prevention, isolation precautions, and safe ambulation practices.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and address patient needs.
• Use critical thinking and nursing judgment to identify and respond to changes in patient status.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Assist with efficient patient flow, including observation admissions, testing, and discharge processes.
• Maintain a professional and positive environment focused on patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Trauma Level I experience required
• EPIC experience required
• ASN required
• BSN preferred
• Active Illinois RN License in good standing
• BLS – American Heart Association
• Strong critical-thinking, assessment, communication, and time-management skills

• 3 × 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours/week
• Nights: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM

• Trauma I and EPIC experience required
