Description
RN - Endoscopy Center
Location
Champaign, Illinois
Contract Length
13 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift
- 4 shifts per week
- 9 hours per shift
- Rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM
- Rotating day off
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- 2 years of endoscopy experience
- Endoscopy experience within the last year
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Role Summary
- Provides care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures, including prep, intra-procedure, and recovery phases for routine GI procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
- Delivers moderate sedation under physician direction
- Rotates through phase 1 and phase 2 recovery
- Assists the CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement
Key Responsibilities
- Completes patient assessment, reviews health history, starts IVs, and provides patient education
- Monitors and sedates patients during procedures
- Maintains nursing documentation and updates care plans as needed
- Supports patient and staff safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards and incidents
- Collaborates with unit staff and delegates appropriately to unlicensed personnel
