Radiation Therapist
Overview
- Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina
- Schedule: Days, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Radiation Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
- ARRT
- Graduation from a radiation therapy technologist program
Preferred Qualifications
- Elekta experience
Job Responsibilities
- Administer radiation therapy according to physician instructions and the patient’s treatment plan
- Enter data into computer systems and adjust equipment controls to regulate dosage
- Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and others with radiation treatment planning
- Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians
- Maintain patient and billing records, reports, and files according to department policies and procedures
- Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments, including total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy
- Prepare equipment and room for patient care
- Use protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety
- Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines
- Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists

- Clinic hours: 6:00a–6:00p; shifts vary within clinic hours
