Description

VIBRA TRAVELS is seeking a Travel EEG Technician to join our expanding network of healthcare professionals. We’re looking for dependable, detail-focused travelers with experience working in a hospital or Outpatient setting. If you're ready to assist while traveling the country, this is your opportunity! 

Position Summary: 

The EEG Technician performs electroencephalogram testing and related neurodiagnostic procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions. This position is responsible for preparing patients, applying electrodes, operating EEG equipment, monitoring recordings, and ensuring accurate and high-quality test results. 

The EEG Technician works closely with neurologists, physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care. This role requires attention to detail, technical skill, strong communication, and the ability to work with patients of all ages, including individuals who may be anxious, confused, critically ill, or experiencing seizure activity. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Completion of an EEG, neurodiagnostic technology, or related healthcare training program preferred; equivalent clinical experience may be considered.  
  • Associate degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology, Electroneurodiagnostic Technology, Health Sciences, or a related field. 
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, neurodiagnostic testing, and medical terminology.  
  • Registration as a Registered EEG Technologist, such as R. EEG T. 
  • Previous experience performing routine EEGs, portable EEGs, video EEG monitoring, ambulatory EEG, or long-term monitoring. 
  • Experience working in a hospital, neurology clinic, epilepsy monitoring unit, emergency department, or intensive care setting. 
  • Knowledge of seizure precautions, activation procedures, and artifact recognition. 
  • Ability to apply electrodes accurately and follow established testing protocols.  
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic medical record systems and EEG equipment software.  
  • Current, valid, and active driver’s license required. 
  • Ability to travel using publicly available air and ground transportation. 

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations: 

  • BLS certification from a Vibra Travels’ approved vendor required. 
  • Registration as a Registered EEG Technologist, such as R. EEG T 

Additional Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds.  
  • Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during patient events or emergencies.  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.

Pros

Everyone was so helpful and nice when i started. beautiful hospital grounds with ample outdoor areas to hang out during breaks/lunch.Amazing cafeteria and always had at least 5 food trucks outside the hospital for linch. Friendly staff including doctors and great patients. patient to staff ratio was awesome and always had a great team mentality of helping everyone out when needed.

Cons

The only con of the area was cost of living especially rent. I rented downtown so I could walk to work but coworkers who lived off of the main downtown area on other islands complained of heavy traffic.
