Job Summary:
Join our dynamic emergency department team as a Registered Nurse (RN - ER) at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. In this pivotal role, you will deliver both direct and indirect patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs in a fast-paced environment. You will conduct comprehensive assessments upon patient admission, including gathering medical history, performing physical evaluations, and interpreting diagnostic results such as lab work and x-rays. Collaborating with physicians, you will develop and execute personalized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission, utilizing appropriate interview and physical examination techniques.
- Monitor vital signs, interpret lab work and diagnostic tests, and identify urgent patient care needs.
- Administer medications with precision, demonstrating clinical competence and attention to detail.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with hospital policies.
- Implement and update individualized care plans under the supervision of attending physicians.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Adhere to safety standards and promote a culture of patient safety and quality care.
- Interact positively with team members, respecting diverse backgrounds, cultures, and patient preferences.
- Accept constructive feedback and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
What You Bring:
- Educational Background: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a valid RN license in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience: Prior clinical experience in emergency or acute care preferred, demonstrating the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and documentation using standard medical equipment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, empathetic attitude, and ability to collaborate within a team.
- Reliability: Dependable with excellent time management skills to consistently meet shift requirements.
- Professional Development: Membership in professional nursing organizations and any specialty certifications aligned with emergency nursing are a plus.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred but not mandatory)
- Previous experience working in Emergency Room settings or critical care environments
- Certifications in specialty areas such as trauma, pediatrics, or cardiac care can enhance candidacy
