Job Description:
Join the dedicated team at Gulf Coast Medical Center as an OR Nurse, providing high-quality perioperative care across a variety of specialties. This role involves working primarily on scheduled days, with additional call shifts and weekend coverage to ensure continuous patient care. As a key member of the surgical team, you will assist in orthopedic, oncology, bariatric, vascular, neuro, trauma, and robotic surgeries, utilizing your expertise in robotic and neuro procedures.
The position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced travel nurses to expand their skills in a dynamic hospital environment. You will be expected to function seamlessly as part of the core staff, contributing to a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care for surgical patients.
- Assist surgeons with robotic, neuro, ortho, trauma, and other specialized procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to OR protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including anesthesia, nursing, and surgical techs.
- Float to other units or campuses as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Ensure all documentation and compliance requirements are completed accurately and timely.
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent OR nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Proven expertise in robotic, neuro, ortho, trauma, and vascular surgeries.
- Prior travel nursing experience required.
- Strong knowledge of Epic EMR.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to float and adapt to different clinical settings.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Degree Verification: Degree accreditation must be confirmed in your profile OR you must possess at least 5 years of hands-on OR nursing experience.
- Experience with orthopedic, oncology, bariatrics, vascular, neuro, trauma, and robotic surgeries is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working in a travel nurse capacity is required.
Certifications & Licenses:
Please note: All certifications and licenses must be active at the time of submission.
- RN License:** Valid Florida or Compact license (must be active and current).
- BLS Certification:** Required for all candidates.
- ACLS and PALS:** Preferred but not mandatory; candidates with these certifications are highly desirable.
