Speech Language Pathologist
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $70.00 – $75.00 per hour, based on experience
Location: Castiac, California 91384
Remote / Onsite: Onsite - mutual meeting location
Position Summary
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, fluency, voice, language, and pragmatic disorders. You will evaluate students, develop and implement intervention and treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy to address communication needs that may interfere with their ability to benefit from their educational program. The Speech Language Pathologist will collaborate with students, families, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to support student progress and educational success.

Key Duties

• Receive student referrals, conduct formal and informal assessments, and collect relevant information from teachers, parents, administrators, support staff, and other appropriate sources to determine eligibility for services.
• Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee/IEP meetings, assist with interpretation of assessment data, and contribute to appropriate placement and development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Plan and provide individual and group speech-language therapy consistent with students' IEP goals, including appropriate interventions, educational materials, and communication technologies.
• Monitor and document student progress, maintain required reports and records, and provide progress updates toward IEP goals as required.
• Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to support student needs, instructional accommodations, communication skills, and educational outcomes.

Requirements
Education

• Required: Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.

Licenses & Certifications

• Required: Valid California License as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Clinical Fellowship candidates must attain CCC within the first year of employment.
• Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee of approximately $50 paid by employee.

Skills

• Knowledge of evaluation procedures and treatment methodologies for individuals with communication disorders and ability to administer and interpret a variety of diagnostic tests and measurements.
• Knowledge of state, local, and federal regulations affecting the identification and treatment of students with disabilities.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents.
• Familiarity with augmentative communication devices and ability to develop and implement staff training and adjust to a variety of situations within the school environment.
