PICU RN Position - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Location: Albuquerque, NM (floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles may be required)
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks (89 days ≈ 13 weeks)

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 for holding Pediatric or SAC status patients.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per standard protocols.
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
• Complete patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years current experience in a 12+ bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
• Must be a team player, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience is a plus.
• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.
