Perform all nursing responsibilities specific to the Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Advanced Care, and Pediatric Med/Surg units.
Implement procedures and theories related to pediatric nursing practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Complete initial patient assessments and develop plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care through continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and patients’ families, including hourly rounding and bedside reporting.
Collaborate with Pediatric Intensivists, Pediatric Hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes.
Monitor intake and output for all pediatric patients.
Perform clinical tasks such as changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs, and administering medications with proper bar code scanning.
Notify providers of high alert lab results.
Serve as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse or neglect cases.
Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development.
