Registered Nurse - Advanced Care (RN UP - Adv Care)

Location: Urbana, Illinois

Job Description

Perform all nursing responsibilities and duties specific to the unit's scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to advanced care nursing.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for use by the healthcare team.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including private discussions when necessary.
Provide constructive feedback to peers and collaborate to expand professional knowledge.
Identify personal learning needs and take initiative for professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
Monitor EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) patients 24/7 for seizure activity.
Utilize meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and whiteboards to ensure good communication with patients and families.
Collaborate with critical care teams and hospitalists for advanced care patients.

Requirements

Experience

Minimum of 3 years relevant nursing experience.

Education

Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications & Licensure

Illinois State RN License in good standing
BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - American Heart Association

This position is ideal for experienced registered nurses with advanced care skills who are comfortable working in a critical care environment and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
