PICU RN Position - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift using the nursing process.
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 for holding Pediatric or SAC status patients.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document accordingly.
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
• Complete patient population/age-specific education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Skills & Experience

• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years current experience in a 12+ bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
• Must be a team player, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Pediatric CVICU experience is a plus.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.

Education Requirements

• Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).

Certifications & Licensure

• Required: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• Required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• BLS and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
