CVOR RN Opportunity - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Position Details
- Specialty: CVOR RN (Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse)
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing
- Shift: Four 10-hour shifts; shifts may fluctuate based on department needs
- Schedule Requirements: Weekends (Friday-Sunday, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM), on-call, and holidays may be required per staff rotation
- Orientation: 1st week of contract, up to 40 hours, includes EPIC training
- Scrubs: Required and provided by the facility
- Travel Radius: 50-mile straight line radius; no local travelers accepted
- Floating: Travelers may float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of assigned location
- Traveling Pairs: No guarantee of same schedules or shifts
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years current experience in Cardiothoracic surgery (highest required years of experience)
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment (prior travel experience required)
- Must be able to scrub
- Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Certifications & Licensure
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
- BLS certification required (must be through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
- ACLS and PALS certifications preferred (if obtained, must be through the same organizations as BLS)
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document)
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care
- Coordinate patient care with patients, families, and healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols
- Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically
- Complete patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards
- Minimal congenital pediatrics care may be required
Additional Information
- EPIC experience preferred but not required; training provided on-site
