Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II
Location: Grand Blanc, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II with comprehensive knowledge and skills in cardiac catheterization procedures, cardiac and vascular physiology, and related medical terminology. The role involves assisting with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff, participating in special projects and committees, and adhering to medical ethics.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology.
- Recognize and interpret ECG waveforms, lethal arrhythmias, and ECG changes related to heart chamber enlargement and myocardial infarctions.
- Perform and monitor diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures and percutaneous interventions.
- Identify coronary anatomy and cardiac pressure waveforms; calculate hemodynamic parameters.
- Record catheterization events and manage supplies for diagnostic cardiac catheterization.
- Perform cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and Activated Clotting Time (ACT) measurements.
- Understand and explain indications and complications of thrombolytic therapy and advanced imaging technologies.
- Identify components and operate Cath Lab fluoroscopy systems to assist physicians during procedures.
- Respond appropriately during cardiac arrest situations using ACLS standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Sciences program (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, Cardiac or Vascular Sonography, or equivalent).
- Certification as one of the following:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
- Radiology Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac or Vascular Interventional certification.
- Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire.
