Job Opportunity: CCC RN (Cardiac Critical Care Registered Nurse)

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
• Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
• Complete patient population/age-specific education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years current experience in a 12-plus bed cardiac critical care and/or intensive care unit.
• Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
• Prior travel experience required: Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with open heart surgery, LVAD, balloon pump preferred.
• EPIC electronic health record experience preferred but not required (training available onsite).

Education Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.

Certifications & Licensure

• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during the first week of assignment; failure to pass will result in dismissal.

Additional Notes

• This role requires flexibility to float between departments and locations within a 20-mile radius.
• The position demands strong clinical supervision skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced cardiac critical care environment.
