Job Summary

The Echo Technologist is responsible for overseeing technical procedures, patient care, and workflows in the echocardiography laboratory. This role involves performing a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing and assisting physicians and sonographers to provide high-quality echocardiographic exams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
• Ensure imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
• Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
• Accurately document all procedures and findings.
• Cross-train in other divisions of Cardiovascular Services.
• Administer contrast agents when needed and not contraindicated.
• Complete documentation of studies and charges in Epic and preliminary information in the Xcelera system for physician review.
• Participate in a rotation of on-call duties during the week and weekends.
• Provide compassionate care and quality studies to patients.
• Perform all forms of Echo testing, including Exercise Stress, Dobutamine Stress, Pediatric Echoes, and Transesophageal Echoes in a timely manner.
• Continuously seek to advance knowledge in all aspects of echocardiography with openness to learning and teaching.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Education

• Associate's Degree in Sonography

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS (AHA)
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Experience Requirements
