Job Opportunity: Scrub Tech (Operating Room)

Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Clinical - Allied - Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide specific patient care duties and unit support activities in the operating room suite.
• Comply consistently with healthcare practices, policies, and ethical standards.
• Complete and maintain all regulatory requirements including licensing, certification, and mandatory training (e.g., TB Testing, Safety Test, Compliance Training, HIPAA Training).
• Deliver quality care to OR patients by anticipating needs before and during procedures.
• Follow physician preference cards and assist with dressings or cast application post-procedure.
• Document and communicate important data, including surgical counts and updates to surgeon preference cards.
• Identify problems and take appropriate action independently to improve quality of care.
• Work additional or different shifts as requested.
• Responsible for one department task beyond routine responsibilities.
• Participate in teaching and submit recommendations for process improvements or cost containment.
• Must have experience with orthopedic, neuro, and robotic procedures.

Requirements

• Specialty: Scrub Tech in Operating Room
• Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years as a scrub person in a hospital setting
• Licensure: Preferred completion of an approved program for Operating Room Technicians or demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training
• Certification:

  • Scrub Tech Certification preferred
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required
