Perform routine and complex sonography imaging by acquiring and processing patient exams according to accrediting bodies, manufacturer guidelines, and department protocols.
Select appropriate sonography protocols and techniques to obtain optimal data.
Review cases with radiologists as needed.
Review labs, patient history, and radiology orders for completeness, accuracy, and medical necessity.
Obtain additional information from patients, ordering providers, or radiologists when necessary.
Ensure imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
Verify and transfer image data in PACS and other digital/reporting systems for radiologist interpretation.
Use web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours.
Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and orderliness.
Recognize and report equipment malfunctions and service needs promptly.
Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety; report safety events immediately.
Assist in instruction of students and new staff as needed.
May perform duties of Sono Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarks.
Assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
May perform duties of other modalities within the department if licensed/certified.

This position is suitable for sonographers with the appropriate certifications looking for a 6-month contract in Illinois.
