Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. The role involves utilizing the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources to deliver quality patient care within the institution's philosophy.

Essential Functions

Perform all unit-specific nursing responsibilities within the scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to medical-surgical nursing practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to resolve issues and provide constructive feedback.
Identify personal learning needs and take initiative for professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Requirements

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience in medical-surgical or related areas.

Education

Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications & Licensure

Illinois State RN License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)

Additional Notes
