Job Opportunity: Surgical Assistant (Travel)
Location: Rochester, Minnesota
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Travel
Position Overview
The Surgical Assistant (SA) supports the surgeon during surgical procedures by assisting with suturing, surgical instruments, and patient positioning. The SA must have a strong understanding of human surgical anatomy, aseptic techniques, and perioperative policies. This role involves working in a multi-specialty perioperative environment including general, orthopedic, neurological, spinal, ENT, gynecological, urology, cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, trauma, plastic, colon-rectal, and pediatric surgeries.

- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Surgical Assistant Program
- Relevant operating room experience within the past 3 years
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) through NCCSA or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through NBSTSA (preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare team
- Adaptability to unpredictable perioperative situations
Specialty Experience
- Minimum 3 years relevant operating room experience
