Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Therapy Acute
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor.
- Demonstrate safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce injury risk.
- Treat patients and colleagues with dignity, respect, empathy, and care.
- Design and adjust plans of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
- Evaluate clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes.
- Perform examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to patient complaints and history.
- Produce documentation in accordance with clinical policies and regulatory standards.
- Screen patients to determine the need and effectiveness of therapy services.
- Use and supervise support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Complete required annual education related to DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program (if applicable).
- Implement functional and emotional needs-based intervention plans.
- Modify approaches based on patient behavior and performance.
- Utilize standardized outcome measures uniformly.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and significant others throughout rehabilitation.
- Provide supervision to PTAs and rehabilitation technicians.
- Communicate patient status, recommendations, and discharge plans clearly with the medical team.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
- Licensure: Illinois Physical Therapist (PT) License
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association)
- Experience: New graduates considered (no minimum years of experience required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
