Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT-Therapy Acute - B)
Location: Urbana, Illinois

Job Description
- Evaluate and treat patients of all ages.
- Serve as a role model and clinical resource for staff and students.
- Perform patient transfers with assistance as needed.
- Use safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce injury risk.
- Design and adjust plans of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
- Evaluate clinical findings to determine diagnoses and outcomes of care.
- Perform examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to patient complaints and history.
- Screen patients to determine the need and effectiveness of therapy services.
- Use and monitor support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Document evaluations, plans of care, goals, treatment modifications, and patient responses according to policy.
Department-Specific Functions
- Implement intervention plans using functional activities considering patient/family emotional and functional needs.
- Modify approaches based on patient behavior and performance.
- Utilize standardized outcome measures uniformly to reflect functional performance accurately.
- Complete documentation per regulatory and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and significant others throughout rehabilitation; provide education and family training as needed.
- Supervise COTA and rehabilitation technicians in accordance with regulatory agencies.
- Communicate patient performance, status changes, activity/transfer recommendations, discharge disposition, and equipment needs with the medical team.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Licensure: Occupational Therapy (OT) license from Illinois
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
