Job Description
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include:
- Performing duties specific to the unit's scope of service
- Implementing nursing procedures and theories related to Med/Surg practice
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care
- Completing initial patient assessments and developing plans of care based on patient and family needs
- Implementing and modifying plans of care through continuous evaluation
- Ensuring patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards
- Communicating effectively with team members to resolve issues
- Providing constructive feedback to peers and engaging in professional development
- Identifying personal learning needs and pursuing solutions
- Meeting all departmental competency requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Experience in Orthopedics
