Job Opportunity: Orthopedic Technologist
Location: Rancho Mirage, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks
Job Description
- Assist orthopedic physician/PA with patient care including casting, splinting, and care of casts, splints, and external fixators.
- Support patient intake, rooming, charting, and documentation.
- Operate in compliance with policies and procedures, demonstrating competency in the clinic environment.
- Assist physician during procedures by anticipating needs and preparing supplies.
- Maintain orderly and stocked treatment and exam areas.
- Apply orthopedic devices (casts, splints, braces) to patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric.
- Perform removal of sutures or staples, change dressings, and schedule tests.
- Log nurse notes and medication refills in patient charts.
- Manage patient flow and assist with documentation for surgery, orders, consents, and chart preparation.
- Process Durable Medical Equipment (DME) applications when needed.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with new techniques and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant certification or licensure as an Orthopedic Technologist.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a positive and professional manner.
- Proficient in operating general office equipment (computer, printer, scanner, telephone).
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
