Job Opportunity: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic - Adult

Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care to adult patients in an oncology infusion clinic setting. Care ranges from simple to complex health problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy drugs, PO and SC injections, and other medications as ordered by physicians.
• Consult with medical personnel and provide expert information about chemotherapy and side effects.
• Document patient responses to treatments and note changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary.
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families.
• Provide chemotherapy-related education to patients and families.
• Schedule patient follow-ups and coordinate care including referrals and phone triage.
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Oncology nursing experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
• Infusion nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a board-approved program.

Additional Information

• No prior travel experience required.
