Job Opportunity: Interventional Technologist I

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks


Job Summary

This is an entry-level position working under immediate to general supervision with a mentor or preceptor. The role involves developing competencies to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patients. The purpose is to assist medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and monitoring of simple to complex conditions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care under routine or emergent conditions across various care settings (inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic centers, outreach clinics).
  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
  • Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures within scope of practice guidelines.
  • Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality meet department protocols and accreditation standards.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical data/findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform operator-level quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and improve care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Skill in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology principles, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and reliably report to work as scheduled.
  • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
  • Accuracy in record-keeping and handling confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
  • Understanding of operations, policies, and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Professional, courteous, compassionate communication with staff, patients, and families.
  • High level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
  • Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies.
  • Ability to apply core-level specialty theory and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and document study data with general supervision.

Experience Requirements

  • This is an entry-level role; specific years of specialty experience are not explicitly required beyond the ability to develop initial competencies under supervision.

  • Not required.

Licensure

  • Must hold the appropriate license for Interventional Technologist or related cardiovascular/radiologic technology discipline as applicable.
