Job Description

Under general supervision, provide respiratory therapy services for all appropriate pediatric age levels in various areas served by the department.

Essential Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
• Record treatment information and patient responses in electronic medical records.
• Serve as a resource to medical staff.
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring.
• Provide age-appropriate care to patients.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained.
• Maintain respiratory therapy records.
• Participate as a member of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.

Required Qualifications

• License: Must hold a valid Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
• Experience:

  • No experience required.
  • Two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred.
• Skills:

  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and equipment operation/repair.
  • Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac care for pediatric patients.
  • Ability to interpret patient information to identify needs.
  • Ability to work under stress and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Basic computer skills.
