Job Summary

The Ultrasound Tech / Sonographer performs ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis. This role requires excellent customer service and adherence to imaging protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient identification and orders; prepare patients for exams.
• Use proper imaging techniques to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality diagnostic exams.
• Perform exams on patients of all ages (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics) following ACR guidelines.
• Demonstrate proficiency with all clinical equipment in the department.
• Complete and annotate medically acceptable exams, maximizing diagnostic information efficiently.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, and documentation.
• Maintain quality control programs per ACR standards and report equipment issues.
• Practice safety in body substance protection, equipment cleaning, sterile techniques, and material management.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.

Physical Requirements

• Carrying, hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, standing.

Required Qualifications

• Valid license or certification as an Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer (as applicable by state).
• Ultrasound experience preferred.

Experience

• No specific years of experience required; ultrasound experience is preferred.

Prior Travel Experience

• Not required.
