<h2>Job Summary</h2><p>Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for handling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures. This role involves anticipating the needs of the surgical team, patient preparation, transport, and ensuring safety and comfort. The Surgical Technologist also responds to emergencies and supports the surgical care team as needed.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Scrub on general surgical procedures.</li><li>Prepare operating room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies based on surgery type.</li><li>Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment; report repairs as needed.</li><li>Follow departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and infection control standards.</li><li>Demonstrate cost-consciousness in handling sterile supplies and instruments.</li><li>Maintain a clean and safe environment, including stocking and returning equipment to storage.</li><li>Provide comfort and privacy for pre-operative patients.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of patient and departmental information.</li><li>Participate in discussions on job enrichment and career progression.</li><li>Complete required education and participate in department-specific programs.</li><li>Assist in admitting, transferring, and discharging patients from the OR.</li><li>Support supply management by adjusting par levels as needed.</li><li>Train and precept new employees in the Surgical Technologist role.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.</li><li>Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of start date.</li><li>Physical ability to lift and move patients, push/pull case carts, and stand/walk for prolonged periods.</li><li>Ability to work in environments with exposure to communicable diseases, odors, and hazardous materials.</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.</li><li>Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program.</li></ul><br /><strong>QUALIFICATION/LICENSURE</strong><br /><strong>Work Authorization :</strong> US Citizen<br /><strong>Preferred years of experience :</strong> 1 years<br /><strong>Travel required :</strong> No travel required<br /><strong>Shift timings :</strong>
