Interventional Technologist I


Location

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma


Job Summary

Assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions without surgery. Support includes cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, and pain management.


Work Schedule

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
  • Rotating day off
  • On-call coverage as needed, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist providers during procedures, acting as a scrub tech and maintaining a sterile field
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide comfort
  • Operate specialized radiologic equipment for diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Perform quality control, cleaning, disinfecting, and equipment maintenance
  • Transfer images and data to electronic health systems and document findings
  • Conduct post-procedure quality reviews and assist with audits and performance improvement
  • Respond to patient and family inquiries regarding testing and results
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care
  • May participate in teaching and mentoring students or new staff
  • Provide on-call clinical coverage as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Oklahoma
  • Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or completion of a 2-year RCIS program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of medical imaging principles, patient positioning, and medical ethics
  • Understanding of anatomy and physiology related to specialty imaging procedures
  • Ability to apply theory and techniques to perform, analyze, and document procedures
  • Consistent application of sterile field protocols to ensure patient safety
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate care across patient populations
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and remain calm under stress
  • Teamwork and effective communication with diverse team members
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs
  • Accuracy in record-keeping and data management
