Job Title: Echocardiographer CWR
Job Summary:
The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures, including 2-D M-Mode, color flow imaging, stress echo, TEE, and Doppler studies. The role requires complete knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Key responsibilities include assisting credentialed cardiology attendings during stress echocardiogram and TEE procedures, obtaining patient history, performing procedures as ordered, and notifying supervisors in cases of acute or life-threatening abnormalities. The Echocardiographer must demonstrate knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques, maintain equipment, and ensure a clean and safe environment. Additionally, the position involves training new employees, participating in performance improvement initiatives, and adhering to accrediting standards and organizational competencies.
Required Qualifications:
- Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques.
- Document at least 15 hours of echocardiography-related continuing education over three years.
- Acquire and maintain competencies, certifications, and continuing education to meet facility accreditation or individual licensing requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school or accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification.
- Maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One-year clinical echocardiography experience.
- Two years of prior experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory or invasive procedure area.
- Experience in vascular testing.

- The Echocardiographer must identify the needs of the patient population served and modify care delivery accordingly, including communication tailored to the patient's developmental, educational, and literacy levels.
