Job Summary

Provide advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, manage, and control cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities under physician orders. Serve as a resource to CRT staff and may lead special clinical projects or assignments as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures, including obtaining arterial blood gases.
• Oversee and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure optimal patient care.
• Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions based on assessments and department criteria.
• Administer medications safely and timely; evaluate and re-evaluate patient response per protocol.
• Communicate patient progress and condition effectively with physicians, nurses, and other departments.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion, wellness, and self-care techniques.
• Complete documentation accurately according to departmental standards, including productivity data.
• Monitor supplies and equipment status, reporting issues as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental meetings.
• Act as a resource, consultant, and mentor to staff; promote the respiratory care profession.
• May float to other departments within competency and qualifications.
• May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications
