Description
Job Summary:
- Assist cardiologists in performing invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiologic procedures.
- Provide technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques.
- Ensure patient care, safety, and satisfaction during procedures.
- Collaborate with team members, physicians, and research staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate electrical/imaging equipment and computers.
- Interpret hemodynamic and procedural results.
- Operate monophasic and biphasic defibrillators.
- Educate and communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety.
- Assist with anesthesia needs for sedated or anesthetized patients.
- Maintain aseptic technique and prepare sterile fields.
- Monitor and report equipment performance and ensure safety compliance.
- Interpret EKGs and alert physicians to irregular activity.
- Manage digital archiving systems for patient images and reports.
- Train and mentor team members as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of applicable experience.
- Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in moderate sedation administration and policy protocol.
- Advanced EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills.
- Competency in sterile table setup and patient preparation for procedures.
- Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, web browsing).
- Fluency in English with multicultural sensitivity.
Required Education:
- Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate of Completion for a Radiology Program.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- IEMA License in Radiologic Technology (Illinois).
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
- ARRT Registration in Radiology.
